A two-day training on Project Cycle Management was held on 18 and 19 May at the Garden City Hotel in Konjic, with the aim of strengthening the capacities of environmental civil society organizations to prepare, plan and implement high-quality project proposals in the field of environmental protection and sustainable development.
The training was opened by Aida Hajalić, Project Manager at REC BiH, while the training sessions were delivered by Elmida Sarić, PCM Senior Trainer.
During the training, participants had the opportunity to improve their knowledge and practical skills in the areas of project cycle management, PCM methodology, logical framework development, activity planning and project budgeting. Special focus was placed on how to clearly identify problems in the community, define objectives, design realistic activities, link them with expected results, and prepare a budget aligned with the project proposal.
Through interactive workshops, group work and practical examples, representatives of civil society organizations worked on problem and objective analysis, development of project strategies, definition of indicators, planning of results and preparation of key elements of a project proposal. In this way, participants had the opportunity to directly apply the acquired knowledge to concrete ideas and challenges faced by their organizations in their work.
The training will contribute to better preparedness of civil society organizations for participation in public calls, the development of higher-quality project applications and more effective project management. It is expected that, through strengthened capacities, CSOs will be able to present the needs of local communities more clearly, develop sustainable project ideas, plan budgets more precisely and demonstrate the results of their work in a more measurable way.
In the long term, such activities contribute to strengthening the role of the CSO sector in environmental protection, increasing citizen participation in decision-making, improving cooperation with local institutions and ensuring better implementation of initiatives that respond to the real needs of communities. By strengthening the knowledge and skills of civil society organizations, conditions are created for the development of more sustainable, responsible and visible environmental initiatives across Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The activity was implemented within the project FUTURE – Pathway to the Development of a Greener Society and Sustainable Environmental CSOs in Bosnia and Herzegovina, implemented by the Resource Environmental Center REC BiH, with the financial support of the Embassy of Sweden in Sarajevo.
