A meeting within the “Enhancement of Pollutant Release and Transfer Registers (PRTRs) in the Western Balkan countries and the Republic of Moldova” Project financed by funded by Federal Ministry for Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety and the German Federal Agency for Environment for funding, within the Advisory Assistance Programme (AAP) for Environmental Protection in the Countries of Central and Eastern Europe, the Caucasus and Central Asia, was held in Banja Luka, with the attendance of Focal Points and the Working Group members.
Activities on the establishment of the PRTR register in BiH at all levels and on the development of bylaws regulating this area have been initiated. A number of issues were discussed at the meeting, such as the current situation, experiences from the Republic of Serbia on the establishment of the register, and possible IT solutions for BiH were presented. Special part was dedicated to the discussion and activities supporting the ratification of the PRTR Protocol.
The meeting was concluded with unified views and conclusions on the further course of activities of this important project.
